  • may need to push back later, want to keep open as long as possible
  • last year, took 3 – 4 weeks to contact all participants and confirm registrations
  • by September 19, need to have all participants passed on to registration people

  • Henry Neeman will offer new machine if it is in full production by November
  • can pull back to BobSCed for problems that don't work well with TACC's Ranger
    • also want to have a fall back in case of act of God

  • no room after Tuesday at 2
  • need to target a specific audience, and will they have time?
  • Geniene and Laurie are student volunteers coordinators – talk about getting time off for student volunteers

    • could we ask last year's volunteers what they would have benefited from learning?
  • panel on how to apply for HPC job

    • want to make sure we capture these people

    • top two events “fixed”, other ones scroll

General

  • need to explain and point more carefully towards which sessions are about what
    • need to level of expectations – level (“prerequisites”), foundation required, interests
  • talk about how to follow up and connect after the conference
  • launch interactive projects at a summer workshop or at the conference, try to provide gateway to links for K-12 teachers to go
    • not just show how tools can be used, but invite teachers into ongoing project using those tools
    • maybe even find mentors to help move project into classroom
  • give teachers time to explore repositories and also have people to help advise them while they're exploring
    • want to introduce this fairly early
  • intro for K-12 teachers (and others) on Web 2.0 collaboration - wikis, etc.
    • important to use for fostering community presence
    • adding this into the workshop topics as well

Videotaping

  • make people sign waiver when register
  • or tell them to sit behind the camera
