Over the last year or so, the MacArthur foundation organized a blog of very short reviewing current topics in games and education. This might be a useful "idea file" for your workshop. A lot of the games profiled at G4C (Games for Change) have application in higher education humanities and social science curricula. I would suggest raiding their speaker's list -- it is a good list. http://www.gamesforchange.org/conference/2007/speakers.php
