Conference program

  • Tracks - Chemistry, Biology, Parallel/Cluster, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Train the Trainer for Computational Thinking
  • Area leads to send a draft track agenda to the group before next week
  • Each of the pathways chairs solicit abstracts for "what have I done since the workshop", "alumni session", each chair solicits and selects
  • Train the trainer for computational thinking workshops track
  • Consider gathering local teachers for a sat/sun presentation on computational thinking - Laura to lead this with Stephanie, Bonnie and TomL
  • General schedule structure
    • 4-5p networking downtime
    • 90 minute blocks or 120 minute blocks

    • Plenary sessions each morning
    • 7a-8a; 8-9:30 plenary; 10-11:30; 11:30-12:30p lunch; 12:30-2p; 2p-2:30p; 2:30p-4p; 4p-5:30p
    • Which days/times do we need the airwall moved in the plenary room? Every day.
  • Curriculum fair on Saturday evening - need a leader, Charlie will contact Masa.
  • Booth - Henry and Kay are leading, they'll talk to Charlie about their needs.
  • Marketing!!! - Bob and Henry's lists, each workshop participant should receive an email

Conference networking

  • WiFi in the rooms, mostly wired in the plenary, speakers all wireline

Workshops

  • Cancel florida, consider filling-in with a something just for Stephanie's school on a future date.
  • 29 and waiting on 4 for Arkansas
  • 40 and waiting on most for OU

Decision making

  • Consensus, with lots of discussion. Important to have good minutes and willingness to re-visit items as more information is known. There was a significant amount of conversation about this which I was unable to capture for the minutes.
