Fitz, Skylar
Speakup kernel built
- Skylar can test software modules, but has no hardware. Does Shodor have anything available?
Combining 32/64-bit kernels
- different trees for the arch-dependent stuff (pre-built modules, etc.)
- For ease, probably stick with 32-bit builds for applications unless there's a dire need for 64
Brings up the question, which apps would need 64?
- Gromacs? mpiblast? Do people even use these on the BCCD? We'd gain a lot of space by removing them
- (Gromacs, for example, is 120MB compressed, 345M uncompressed)
- Do the MPI implementations, when compiled as 64-bit, have 32-bit compatibility support?
- after all, mpicc, etc., are just shell scripts (for the most part).
Fitz's torque issues
- pbs_mom and pbs_server don't communicate when head node as 192.168.3.1 (default)
- no amount of fussing around seems to change this fact.
- Try forcing it over loopback?
- Does this happen outside the BCCD too?
- tcpdump and check for differences between 3.1 and a working IP?
C3 support pretty much done (merging in today)
Conferences for the BCCD?
